Our birth as a printed magazine.
In September of 2007, following the success of our online issue from the previous school year, the SGA Finance Committee approved Debatable and our dream of creating a print magazine for student opinions became a reality. After a flood of flyers that entertained some and annoyed others, we began to receive numerous submissions. By the deadline for Issue 2 on November 16, 2007, we had been sent 35 articles. For our print edition, due to limited space, we chose the cream of the crop: 17 high-quality opinions pieces.
We the editorial board could not have produced this magazine without the immense help of our layout designers, Mike Murali and Meaghen Brown, as well as the incomparable Lyn DeGraff over at Reprographics.Now, here on the blog for your enjoyment, we have posted the articles published in Issue 2.
